Winners of Middle East Architect Awards, awarding the best architect, best architecture firm, best young architect and best engineer, are announced. The third annual Awards awarded Melkan Gürsel and Murat Tabanlioglu as the “Architect of the Year”. Also, Tabanlioglu Architecture Firm is awarded as one of the best architecture firms of 2010 in the related category.

The category reviewing the projects awarded Tabanlioglu’s Tripoli Congress Hall built in Libya by System Construction as the “Institutional and Cultural Project of Year” in 2010. Besides, the building is recognized as one of the two best buildings among total 133 projects nominated on 13 different categories and is awarded as the project of the year.
The hall, having a capacity 3000 people, is constructed by System Construction as the first and most modern building of the city and is located right at the center of Tripoli. The prestigious Awards committee awarded Tabanlioglu Architecture Firm of Turkey with this award after reviewing works of architects designing in the Middle East and building recently built in the region.
Melkan Tabanlioglu received 4 awards at the awards ceremony hosting a wide range of guests from architecture, design, construction and investment sectors. The contest committee, hoping to reach modern Middle East architecture in the future in conceptual and physical terms, highlighted that architecture in Turkey will highly contribute to their visions.
